Molecular Biologist / Research Associate

Job DescriptionAREVA Med is seeking a full-time Molecular Biologist / Research Associate for our Plano, TX, location. This person will support ongoing cancer research studies, assist in data collection, analysis and summarization, and work collectively with team to accomplish deadlines and objectives. 

 

Responsibilities and duties include: 

  • Working with tissue culture and other basic molecular techniques including ELISAs, gel and capillary electrophoresis, microscopy, HPLC, imaging, flow cytometry, working in a “hot” lab environment with radioisotopes, manufacturing of radiolabeled compounds to support non-clinical and clinical activities.
  • Assisting in the development of new laboratory procedures and techniques.
  • Overseeing technicians’ day to day activities.
  • Experimentation troubleshooting.
  • Analyzing data, summarizing results, and presenting conclusions to team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:  All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity.  

  • BS or BA in Biological Science or related Life Sciences field, plus 2-3 years of related lab experience in a research lab setting. (A Master’s degree may substitute for 1 year of related work experience.)
  • Knowledge of advanced molecular biology/cancer biology.
  • Interest in working regularly with radioactive isotopes.
  • Experience performing mammalian tissue culture and aseptic technique.
  • Good analytical ability and problem identification/problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to keep detailed records and report on findings in a concise and clear manner.
  • Strong ability to function efficiently and cooperatively with a team of scientists, technicians, etc.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

 

The following qualifications are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.

  • Previous experience in the use of biological instrumentation, including but not limited to microscope, flow cytometer and plate reader.
  • Previous GMP experience.
